I started out with some concept character designs, mostly capturing the color used for each emotion (or perhaps I should say flavor). Using these designs, I started doing all of the animation frame by frame in black and white. I didn't want to use any tweening because of the simplicity of the assets.



 Then I just started animating, creating 3 different images, all lasting 3 frames each (2 during faster moving scenes). Because everything would be relatively still, I wanted to create enticing motion through cycling through the 3 variations of the same image.
